With a particular passion for grassroots initiatives, Chris Rivers offers two decades of progressive expertise as a sports marketing professional whose experience covers both brand and direct response marketing. His experience includes creating plans and strategies based on consumer insights to create newsworthy campaigns. As President of Professional Athletic Career Development for Tribute Sports Management, Christopher has been providing career guidance to a team of professional athletes, partnering with small brands, acting as a life coach for college students and young professionals, and consulting on sports marketing, public relations, and e-commerce.
Previously in his career, Christopher Rivers served as Director of Global Sports Marketing, NBA Sports Marketing Senior Manager, and Basketball Sports Marketing Director.
Across the course of his professional experience, Chris Rivers has demonstrated consistent ability in areas like team leadership and development, program and campaign management, mentoring and coaching, brand management, forecasting, client relations, social media strategy, and more. His communication and interpersonal skills range across diverse environments and all levels.
Alongside the love of the sport, Christopher treasures the people that he’s met and the relationships that he’s built along the way. He enjoys speaking to high school kids and college students to show them that there is a whole world to sports outside of the athletes you see on TV. He teaches students that they don’t ever have to even shoot a basket outside of high school to be able to build a lifelong career in basketball. Christopher has been around a fair portion of the world and helped create life experiences for aspiring athletes and other sports industry professionals. For his work and dedication, Christopher has been honorably featured in several sports documentaries, including “At All Costs,” “Ball in the Family,” and “Gunning for the No. 1 Spot,” to name a few.
Chris Rivers also enjoys the ability to give back to his community. Since 2021, he has been serving on the board of the Sports Boost Foundation, and he previously served on the board of Shooting Touch in Boston. Additionally, Christopher coached the Wilsonville Youth Football team and the Wilsonville Youth Lacrosse team, and he coached basketball for the Clutch Players Basketball team.
